I honestly never thought I’d be doing this but with a baby on the way and us being on the move, we’ve decided to downsize and we have to find this sweet boy a home.
Honestly, it’s needed to happen for a while because it’s come to our attention that Toby would be much happier as the only dog in the home. It’s just so hard to part ways.
Name: Toby
Breed: Long haired dachshund
Age: 1 year
DOB: February 14th, 2024
He is not neutered.
Personality wise; Toby is a fantastic dog. He’d do great in a home being the center of attention (The main pet of the house) but we have 3 other pups so dogs aren’t a huge problem. He’d just prefer to have all the attention. He likes cats, he just likes cats a little bit too much. Toby likes to be very involved and can come on very strong. With people, other pets, and even children. He likes to be in charge and at times he can be very stubborn. He is potty trained but…can you ever fully potty train a dachshund? He’s incapable of being left out at home alone, we do crate him whenever we are gone or for bedtime. We do this because Toby can be destructive when he doesn’t have someone or something to keep him occupied. Toby is free fed, so he eats whenever he pleases. He’s used to having a fenced in yard but he’s definitely an escape artist.
We would send Toby with his collar, crate, and some of his current dog food. He’s never had to eat anything specifically and he’s healthy. While I don’t have his papers, I do have vet info. He’s UTD on his rabies and he does wear his tag. Although he has chewed on it quite a bit. We use simpatica trio I believe it’s called for flea and tick medicine but he is due for another round.
Additional: Toby does know some commands and tricks, but picks and chooses when to put them to use. Toby knows sit, lay, leave it and his name. He knows the words “outside” “potty” and “crate”.
Please, please, please reach out if you can give our sweet boy the home he needs! 💔❤️
