I need to rehome my sugar gliders, Penny and Oliver. They are both 2 years of age and very tightly bonded to one another. The male is neutered so you will not be surprised with any new joeys!
They will come with EVERYTHING you need.
This includes a very tall, large, quality cage with wheels that was only bought a few months ago, and a small hamster cage which I use for traveling purposes. Also there will be handmade sugar glider pouches-two that look like bananas, one is a pouch, the other is a hammock. These have quality clips attached so they can be clipped into the large cage. There is also a cherry house pouch that hangs from the ceiling of the large cage. A hanging pineapple house from the store will also be included. I bought all three of these on Etsy and they were not cheap. They are also machine washable but I usually wash them in the sink. I also bought them a very nice, very safe sugar glider wheel-it is green and is installed into the side of their large cage. You will also get two blue sugar glider bonding pouches, this is how you bond with them. You put them in the pouch and wear it so they can get used to your scent and trust you.A glass water bottle that hangs inside the cage will also be included.
The large cage has a metal-wire bottom with a tray that catches everything. The tray slides out and I use nature's miracle to clean it and I line it with paper towels instead of using litter or substrate because this is very messy-your life will be much easier if you just line it with paper towels.
Penny and Oliver have no problem with eating-they love to eat. As their caregiver, you just have to be careful about what you give them to eat-no seeds or nuts!! They LOVE cantalope and apple-just wash it first. They will also eat banana and mango. Put honey on any of this and they will love it even more. They will come with some of their MAIN food(their diet is 25% fruit, 75% protein paste). This protein paste is called HPW powder by Exotic Pets. They do not sell this in Bloomington, but it is available at a fantastic price on Amazon-just have it shipped. You CAN NOT feed these animals pellets. This is not a good way to feed your sugar glider(it causes bleeding mouth sores) and they will not eat it. The HPW paste is very easy to prepare-just mix with bottled/spring water and voila, a meal fit for a suggie. They will also come with a water bottle, fill this also with bottled water/drinking water and NOT tap water.
This may seem confusing/complicated at first, but they are all around pretty easy to care for once you get the basics down. The rehoming fee for these sugar gliders and absolutely everything I have listed above is negotiable. The cage and accessories did not come at a low price.
