African Geese are very large, maturing between 12.5 and 15.5 pounds and make an excellent meat bird. Their meat is leaner than other goose varieties and the meat quality is superior in taste.
African Geese are known for their knob, which can take 2-3 years to fully develop. Special care must be taken in the winter, as the knobs can be prone to frostbite.
