Looking for an IT tech for a 2-visit network router installation and cutover project at a bank location in Washington, IN.
VISIT 1 — Router Install & Circuit Testing
Dates: 6/16/26 or 6/18/26 (morning or afternoon slots available)
Scope:
• Pick up hardware from nearby FedEx location prior to arrival
• Rack 1RU router in parallel (without disturbing current network)
• Locate 2 circuits from Demarc info provided
• Test each circuit via Ethernet speed test (requires static IP change on laptop)
• Connect router to switch port under remote engineer direction
• Take photos as directed
VISIT 2 — Cutover
Dates: 6/23/26 or 6/25/26 (evening slots ~5:45pm or 6:45pm)
Scope:
• Console cable connection to router
• Set up WiFi hotspot or mini-switch for Comcast circuit
• Join Webex, work under remote engineer direction
• Move cables, assist testing
• Unrack old router and box for return
• Take photos
NOTE: Same tech needed for both visits at same location. If available for Visit 1 but not Visit 2, we can schedule Visit 2 for a Tuesday or Thursday evening the following week.
TECH WILL NEED:
• Standard rack and stack tools
• Laptop with Webex, Putty, COM port drivers, Ethernet capability (adapter if needed)
• Console cable (Cisco RJ45-to-USB)
• 6' and 10' Cat6 Ethernet cables
• Cell phone with hotspot capability + charger
• Mini-switch if available (preferred over hotspot)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• Prior experience with network equipment installation
• Familiarity with circuit testing and console connections
• Comfortable working with remote engineering support
Pay: $30/hr — minimum 3 hours guaranteed per visit ($90), paid hourly until you leave. $180 minimum total for both visits.
